Our Mission
The Piatigorsky Foundation shares live classical music with communities throughout the United States. Gregor Piatigorsky, the renowned cellist, believed that music is not a luxury for an elite few, but a necessity of life for all. PF Classical Community Concerts bring together world-class musicians and eager audiences to celebrate the joy of music.

Program
Since 1990, the Piatigorsky Foundation has been bringing the joy of live classical music performances to communities throughout the United States. We became a nonprofit in 1991. Our artists play for diverse audiences including seniors, students and those living in geographically remote areas. We often perform in non-traditional venues presenting music in a highly communicative way.
The hour-long concerts take place in informal settings including schools, retirement communities, churches, synagogues, hospitals, workplaces, libraries, studios and community centers . . . virtually anywhere people gather. By bringing musicians into familiar, intimate surroundings and creating an interactive concert format, we make classical music accessible to people throughout the country.
Goals
- Make live classical music an integral part of communities
- Offer meaningful performance opportunities for established and emerging artists
- Create a broader base for classical music by developing new audiences
- Enrich community life by bringing extraordinary musical talent to underserved areas
Our music reaches over 10,000 people each year. Performances are heartfelt, informative and entertaining. More than 200 PF Classical Community Concerts will take place this season in over 20 states from Arizona to Wyoming.
