Volunteering

With the assistance of a generous grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the Piatigorsky Foundation created a "Volunteer's Handbook" to help communities help themselves. Through this program, people get involved in producing and organizing Piatigorsky Foundation Concerts in their community. Volunteer groups participate in the fun and success of musical events specially designed for their own families, friends and neighbors!

The volunteer group performs many of these following activities:

—Selecting the performers for the concert.
—Contacting the performers to confirm the date and time of the concert and that their directions to the venue are accurate.
—Organizing a reception for the artists and audience.
—Publicizing the concert.
—Arranging the concert room set-up and making sure the piano is tuned.
—Setting-up and manning a table so that the performers' recordings are available for sale.
—Reporting to the Foundation on audience response.
—Recruiting new volunteers.
—Fine tuning the logistics so that each concert is even more exciting and successful than the last.

By joining a volunteer group, you are reaching out to new listeners and spreading the joy of live classical music. Piatigorsky Foundation concerts are wonderful opportunities for communities to come together while listening to some of the world's greatest music performed by dynamic, highly accomplished artists.
